With the Maxiport 16-port KVM switch you can control directly up to 16 computers and up to 512 computers if you cascade 31 switches. This switch does not require any software, you can control computer selection through an intuitive on screen display (OSD) menu. It also automatically senses the station position on daisy-chain installations. This means that you never have to bother with manual DIP switch settings. A front panel LED indicated the station position. When the station sequence is changed the port names automatically reconfigure. This switch features autoscanning, and it is hot-pluggable, which means that you never have to power down to add or remove computers.You get two-level password security so that only authorized users can view and control computers. The system will recognize an administrator and up to four users, each with their own profile. It features two-level logout, either manual or timed. And you can upgrade the switches firmware through flash-ROM. PS/2 keyboard and mouse emulation enables computers to boot even when the console focus is elsewhere. This unit can be mounted in a 1U, 19-inch rack systems.This kit comes with everything you need to get started: (8) 6-foot KVM cables, (8) 10-foot KVM cables, a firmware update cable, power adapter and a rack mounting kit.
