That s why the ServSelect II is designed with two analog port sets to accommodate two monitors and a pair of PS/2 keyboards and mice. This way two users have a beautifully designed way to control, switch between, troubleshoot and even reboot up to 16 CPUs, other ServSwitch units and peripherals. Powerful on-screen management features make server selection and system configuration easy. You can identify each server by a unique name, ID number or port number. The ServSelect II gives you three operational modes for selecting servers: Broadcast, Scan and Switch and Share. In Broadcast mode, you can simultaneously control more than one server to ensure that all selected servers receive the same input. In the Scan mode, you can scan only a few or all 16 servers - you decide. In Switch and Share, either user can select any server at any time. Or, you can choose to share access to a single server, with only one user in control at any given time. No special cables are required to link your ServSelect II with these modules. All you need is ordinary Category 5 UTP cable. This type of connection cuts down on the amount of cable at the rack, so you can establish higher server density while providing greater airflow that keeps your equipment cool.The Server Access Modules not only have an RJ-45 connector for making Cat5 connections, they also have a built-in color-coded KVM cable that plugs into the server s keyboard, monitor and mouse ports. The ServSelect supports Display Data Channel Plug-and-Play to automate monitor configuration. Additionally, you can protect your system with a screen-saver password for each user. You also have future proofing since the ServSelect II is flash upgradable. A null-modem cable is included to make the switch/server connections more convenient for upgrades.
