The Adaptec SlimSCSI APA-1480 CardBus to SCSI adapter lets you connect a wide range of SCSI peripherals: removable media drives, CD-ROM to install software upgrades, a scanner, or a hard disk drive. This is the first CardBus-compatible SlimSCSI adapter, so you'll get incredible PCI performance via its 32-bit interface. It offers 3 times the speed of the APA-1460 when used with a Jaz drive, 10 times when used with an UltraSCSI Hard drive. The APA-1480 features Bus-Mastering, with an on-board microprocessor managing all I/O requests, leaving the CPU free to manage other tasks. It also offers UltraSCSI and hot-swap support. Connect up to 3 SCSI peripherals via daisy-chain and detach peripherals without having to reboot your system. Installation is made easy with Plug-and-Play support under Windows 95. Low power consumption minimizes battery drain from notebook computers. Internal active termination is provided.
