With a high-performance, 8-bit interface and supporting multi-tasking O/S such as UNIX and OS/2, as well as MS-DOS, the RDSP/400 Series is designed to allow developers to add voice processing capability to smaller PC systems. The 4-port RDSP/432 card's architecture incorporates superior, high-speed Digital Signal Processing technology to perform continuous, simultaneous, independent signal analysis across multiple ports. All features are implemented through high-quality software algorithms. The algorithms and associated firmware download into the RDSP's memory from the host computer and reside there during run time.Brooktrout's advanced voice processing algorithms provide all the necessary functions for developing state-of-the-art voice processing systems. The AccuTalk algorithm combines (6) digitization and compression rates with Automatic Gain Control, Record Cue, Voice-Activated Record and Dual-Channel Recording. The AccuRate algorithm enables speech speed control and supports advanced call progress analysis via the patented AccuCall algorithm. Other algorithm support includes: AccuDigit DTMF detection with 100% talkoff rejection, AccuTone multi-frequency detection, and Positive Voice Control, which distinguishes among voice, call progress signals, noise and silence to detects answers within milliseconds. Each RDSP/400 port has a Loop Start interface capable of detecting incoming rings and loop current drops. The ports also support on/off hook capability under program control. The RDSP/400 Series features Analog Bus Connectors for connection to other PC-based voice/data communication resources. The RDSP/432 also includes an announcement or music-on-hold connector for external audio equipment.
